Keep getting this dumb a#$ message. My bottle is topped up. Sensor is probably bad. Anyone ever get this message? Is this the problem? Anyone have an idea of how much to replace the sensor? Can I splice or jump the wires together and fake out the system (ie not replace the sensor)? Any advice is welcome- anything but take it to the stealership that is!:)

Do you have a multi-meter or something to take a reading across the terminals?
That would be the best way to check the sensor for resistance.
The harness connector should give you 5VDC I would imagine.
Bentley gives no spec that I've ever found.

I have a sensor for sale. $19 with shipping. Cost around $35 new.
Thanks,
Tim

there are 2 wires to the sensor which can be jumped to eliminate the low level message. i did this with a thin metal clip inserted into the connector rather than cutting it and twisting the wires together, which i guess should also work to close the circuit.

Yea, :rolleyes...or you can do it the right way and get a new sensor.

yeah, if it mattered and if one did not already delete the fluid washer tank altogether. :)

Mine gave me that message once. I went and bought a new sensor, but before I actually replaced it, the message went away and has not come back since. Luckily, the guy at the dealer took the part back. I just tightened the plastic nut at the bottom of the reservoir.

Thanks for all the advice . I'll check that nut underneath and tighten it first. Haven't made up my mind on the sensor. I live in Cali and only use the washer maybe 3-4 time a year so I can probably jump the two wires and be done with it. :)

Maybe this is a dumb question, does your pump work? Can you spray water? If not, it will give you this error (from time to time)
BTW: Art hooked me up with one for like 12 bucks

Well I checked under the hood and all's nice and tight so It's gotta be my sensor or a short soewhere I can't see. I think I will jump the two wires together temporarily and see if this 'solves' my problem. If so then it is the sensor.:)
