Car does not run. The car has the somewhat sought after recaro sport seats, which are probably worth more than the car itself at this point. Would be a good candidate for a motor swap or if you have the time and space you could part it out and make a few bucks.

Car is a '79 with the 2.0 and four speed tranny. 185k on the odometer. Clean title and currently registered as an antique vehicle in VA.

Any clue as to why it doesn't run? not sure. I went to pick up food one day and when I got back to the car 15 mintues later it wouldn't start. The engine turned over and sounded like it wanted to start, but it wouldn't catch. My hunch is some sort of electrical thing. I never took the time to look into it.

HUnter Yes the car was repainted at one point. no mud. Don't know where that came from. Rust isn't bad. The only place where rust is a real concern is the rear shock towers.

I figured if it was painted generally some one filled all the dents with bondo. Not the proper way to do it but how most "repairs"/"paintjobs" seem to come out.

At the top of both shock towers there is a hole from rust. Probably something that should be taken care of, though it doesn't look like it's gotten any worse in the 2 years I've had the car.

I can have the car towed there then figure out a way to get it all the way up here. (maybe we can talk to the guys at the shop for a car tow. Think the E46 can tow her up here?

Yeah I think it could, but some of us locals have suv's also, so you could just rent one of those dollies from u haul or somewhere that lifts 2 of the wheels off the ground. You might end up spending close to a grand when you are done, unless you plan to use brand new parts.
