Sorry if i posted this in the wrong section, I'm new to the forum and new to bmws.
I want a 1990-1995 3-series manual all-wheel drive.
My question is does bmw make AWD?
What would some of you recomend what 3 series model to stay way from?
thanks.

In the United States, BMW had AWD only on the E30 (1984-1991 3-series), called the 325iX.

as ohnoes posted, the only awd 3er that you're going to find is going to be an e30. great car but no longer made past '91.
BMW reintroduced AWD to the 3 series with the e46, the e36 (produced from '92-99) never had AWD.

Another option would be to get the 525iX, wich is an E34. I believe it was made from 1991 to 1994. They are very uncommon in the US, but you are close enough to Canada that you might be able to find one.

They were never made for the U.S.
Why must a car be made for the U.S for you to buy one? Import import import :)

Your best bet would be a E46, 99-2005 3 - Series.

not so easy to do so in the USA, especially when the car is not considered unique by the federal government.

I love my 325xi. Great for Germany and Colorado.

They are also great for being boring DD's. Many have auto 'boxes, the early E46's could not come with sport suspension or decent rubber (the rubber of course has been made irrelevant at this point as they prolly have different rubber on them now though). The Xi's drive system relies heavily on the ABS and it's own computer. I am a control freak and therefore chose the iX. I have H&R sport coils, Bilstein sports and run Nokian Nordmans in the winter. Unless your road isn't plowed, you REALLY don't need AWD. I chose the iX because it's the only all-mechanical AWD system. Quattro relies on ABS as does basically every other system out there. An example of this is Subaru who have deemed it necessary to apply the brakes when it thinks one wheel is spinning too much. The iX uses an open front differential, a limited-slip Fergusen-type center transfer case with a set torque split of roughly 40% to the front and 60% to the back, which makes the car really easy to drive on it's limits regardless of the surface. The rear diff is a 3.9 viscous limited slip-type. Get an '88 iX (E30) (they came with all the options as standard that year, and of the 400 sent to the US that year, all were 2-doors with manual transmissions). Did I mention that the car is more than fun to drive?
