Hi,

I have a 98 323Is. The car is bone stock. I want to leave it like that except for a set of staggered wheels and tires. I do not race and I rarely go over 70 MPH. I do not corner fast as well. I love the look of really wide rear tires on BMW's. Therefore, I want them.

I want to order M3 replica's (Called Autobahn by Fast Wheels) in the staggered size. But I'm wondering if I can run a 255/35R18 in the rear without rubbing or rolling fenders. I saw one today at the tire shop and it is wide (10.1 inches)

Can someone point me in the right direction for offset and tire size for this vehicle keeping in mind the widest rear tire possible without modification.

Thanks
Robert

It's going to depend on the rim size. 255/35/18s can be accommodated on the e36 without modifications to wheel well if the rim is the correct offset & width. IIRC, my 18x9s have an et of 46mm. I had no problem running 255/35/18s on my e36 for years with unrolled fenders. I eventually rolled my fenders slightly when I upgraded the suspension. With the 1"+ drop in the rear, I had very slight rubbing during hard cornering.
