OK so ive had my car for a month to this date...and i was driving home yesterday and got pulled over. I was at a stop sign were the road has a bend to it...and there is a fence that makes it so you can only see about 100-150 feet or so.There is a hole in traffic...so i get ready to go....and start goin and then i see a truck come out from behind the fence so being out and still moving i had to go so i punched it and i swear my tires (which have about 10% of tread) hit that white line at the stop sign and started spinning. They spun prolly on revolution around then i put the wheel strait for a second and let about half way off. So the tires would grip and there wouldnt be the resistance of the front tires tryin to turn. Then i kept turning and got up to speed so the truck wouldnt hit me or have to slam on the brakes. About 100 yards down the road i hear a woo woop and get pulled over. We both talked like a normal conversation and did all that had to be done. I got a ticket for a court date for wreckless driving. First of all i was pist that it was for wreckless driving when i didnt mean to and ive seen so many people do it.

Do you think if i told them what happened i could atleast get it to go down to a parking ticket or something?

I was gonna tell the judge that im still new to the RWD and it being a RWD with no weight over the tires like a FWD and with it still being a fairly new car to me that I did not know it would re-act that way. (good idea or just tell them that the cars a month old)

My record is Clean and I only got pulled over once before for a "california stop" were no one was at the 4 way and the cop pretty much just told me to drive safe.

any advice would be greatful because i think im gettin the BS end of this with me just tryin to get into traffic.

I wish i had a clutch instead and woulda just dropped a fatty peal out so all this shit would atleast be worth it....

thanks in advance though

please avoid posting multiple times on the same subject. Also, if you did a burnout, intentional or not, and then sped up to get around a truck, that can legally be wreckless driving, so if the officer shows up I don't think you can fight it much, if he doesn't show up then your fine.

well i didnt get around a truck...i was at a stope sign and started to go...then a truck came around the corner so i gave it more gas to get infront of the truck....and then it did that....i think the cop mostly heard me more than saw me....

the chances of a cop not showing up is 30% so its not in my favor....

and for some reason the "post button" was highlighted and i was hittin the space bar to space nad it posted....sorrry

I haven't had much court experience, but if I was in the judges position, I would most likely be understanding in the fact that the stop sign was poorly designed and you did your best to avoid a major traffic collision. Glad no one was hurt though, just make sure you explain the poor construction of the stop sign and the area around it. In past cases that I have attended or been involved in, I have brought pictures. Go take some photos of the actual stoplight and the area around it, showing again, the poor construction of the area. Some photos always aid in your case, and show that you are prepared!

Just my little advice, keep us updated and prepare yourself for any response given by the judge. Coming in knowing the possible questions that can be thrown at you and having a mature, intelligent response always adds you your forceful argument.

learned all this shit in years of debate for political crap. Again, just dont show up acting like a n00b. Don't say the RWD is new to you, that just adds to the fact that you might be a driver that does not know the limits of your car, in my mind, an unexperienced driver, who might deserve a ticket.

Hope this helps!!!!!!:)

ahhh, its okey, my first car was RWD so i guess I kinda grew up on it.

All I can say, again is walk into that court room confident that your case is the valid one, and show up with some evidence if possible (AKA The Pictures of the intersection).....

Throw out some more questions! I actually kinda enjoy this as I do a lot of political debate shit and I am going to be around the computer!

lol I am a nerd.... qtfff....:buttrock
