There's a bar over in the Northeast called "The Grey Lodge Pub". Every friday the 13th, they have an event called "Friday the Firkenteenth". Basically, they get all of the local Microbreweries to put up a firkin of beer, and then pour them 7 at a time. Think "real ale", i.e., all gravity poured, and cellar temp (55 ish). It's a great time, and a great way to try some different beers. A bunch of my firends and I will be there. Check out http://www.greylodge.com/

for directions and a beer lineup. People that hang out at the Bethlehem Brewworks would most likely enjoy this type of beer.

I went to this great place in Philly that I met Dave (SilverStreak) at a couple summers ago called "Monk's" on 16th and Spruce.

Great selection of Belgian beers.

That sounds fantastic. I would go, but the bar exam is in a week so I couldnt really enjoy anyway. Next time though, I'm definitly in.

And Monks is awesome. I have a friend that lives right across the street. I marvel at how she isn't there several nights a week. Also good is Brigid's in Fairmount for Belgian beers and good food.

This is the last one for this year, I think there is only one next year? I don't really feel like going through the calander :p Monk's is ok, great mussels, great beer selection, but the service can be very spotty. And I hate how it's always packed in there. My favorite bar for selection is Ludwigs, over on Sansom. Everytime I go in there, I can sit down, either at the bar or at a booth. Lots of great beers you don't really see anywhere else. But my favorite place to hang out lately is Northern Liberties. 5 or 6 solid beer bars all within a block radius. Really can't go wrong there.

The next one is June of next year.
