Well.. its been ungodly how around here for the last couple days, so I decided I would use some AC yesterday. I turned on the fans ... nothing ... hit the ac button .. still nothing. Its like the fans arent even turning on .. any ideas?

Do you have the digital climate control unit? Is the display simply black, ignoring all your commands?

Time for the capacitor fix!

I only wish it was 90 degrees with no ac. Mine kicked out when it was 119 the other day. (Phx, AZ) Might be my FSU.

Good luck man. Keep cool.

HAHA same thing happend to my 325i last month. It was actually the aux fan. try turning the fan manually by hand if it feels stuck. the fan is gone....

the digital control responds to everything I press .. well, in the fact that the lights change, but the fan never comes on

I'm jealous that you guys can even read your OBC clearly! I have to press mine hard just to read the temperature and if its over 100 I can only see the last 2 digits (part of them at least!)

Well recently on my 99 M3, my FSU went bad which prevented the fan from operating (the FSU is what powers the fan).

In my case the digital climate control seemed to operate normally, but the fan just didn't blow, no matter what the fan speed was set for. Replacing the FSU has solved the problem.

I got my FSU from the dealer because it was in stock, but later I found that Bavarian Autosport has it for much cheaper.

Someone has posted a good guide for replacing the FSU, I suggest you search for that. I don't think I can post a link.

That sounds similar to my prob .. no matter the fan setting, ac on or off, the fan doesn't kick on

what exactly does FSU stand for? and what would I be looking at price-wise and install (if its not an easy install)?
