Hi,

Just wanted to drop in and share my new wheels with you all. She's a one-owner 1995 540i with 105000 mi. Did a lot of research to find one this clean, with an owner who cared about her as much as I will. She's got upgraded shocks, wheels and tires, along with a Dinan intake and chip.

Wow she moves. Reminds me of a 94 Impala SS I used to own with a lot more style comfort and speed. But the way you can snap a passenger's head back on acceleration is amazing. Love the color, too. Parchment leather inside Calypso Red outside.

Problems I know of already: driver's side door brake ripped out, already purchased a Koala Motorsport fix plate (hope it arrives soon!) and central locking system is kind of batty. Otherwise I'd rate her as a near excellent example of an e34.

Without further ado, pics:

Thanks for the welcome, folks! About those rims: I'll have to put some new rubber on pretty soon. Was thinking of going for some Conti's.

I wonder if the KMS door fix plates are actually any good and whether or not I should just get the door brake welded back into place? Anyone had any experience with that?

Syntax: You should see my 2nd e21. At 25 she is still rustfree and doing DD duty. I don't have the guts to use the 540 on grocery trips and such yet. Still too "new".

Pics of the E21 :) I've got an E12 with no rust on it also, but I am also in GA. Very rare that a car that old from NY has no rust. Nice.

Yeah, my search definately showed some horrible NY 5-ers. It is a real shame what some people do (or don't do) to their cars.

The 2nd e21 originally came from upstate LA, explaining how it stayed rustfree. My 1st e21 was a NJ car and it has some softball sized rust holes down underneath. Keeps my feet cool when driving:stickoutt. Actually, seeing the issues, I just decided to use it as a parts car for the newer one.

Here are the two together this morning. Some day I'll do a nice photoshoot with the two together.

Looks good. I think those are the only E36 style rims that look good on our E34s.

Guys, I noticed a few of you are commenting on the six speed... but really, isn't it the only way to go?:D

Seriously, the clutch is sweet, too. Thanks for the good energy!

Very nice ride! I do wish my 540i was a standard, but I feel pretty fortunate. I love the E21 too. I had one of those about 13 years ago. Almost half a million km. with no engine work, when I had to let it go. It was the car that started my appreciation for BMW's great handling.

Congrats on the 540 and welcome to the forum. These are some of the most helpful people on the net. :)
