I need to get my RC's repainted and I just cringe at them getting screwed up by the wrong person doing them. Do I go for a powdercoat or a base coat with clear coat.

I also want to match the original polished paint look of the wheels again. Any help would be appreciated.

Are you redoing the whole set, or just one wheel?

For just one wheel, have it painted. If you have one powdercoated, it will look slightly different; powdercoat is thicker, so it softens any sharp edges or lettering. Also, in my experience, it can be tough to get powdercoat to perfectly match paint.

For the whole set, you could go either way. Powdercoat will be more durable, and much harder to scratch. The downside is that if you ever rash a wheel, you wont be able to do a spot repair on the wheel, you will have to have the whole wheel refinished. Paint will probably be cheaper, plenty durable, and easier to touch up if the wheels get scratched or rashed.
