M54B25 engine swap into e36

Hi- I recently acquired a wrecked 2001 325ci w/ a M54B25 engine and 5 speed manual transmission. It looks like their is too much body damage to realistically restore the e46, but the engine and tranny are untouched.

Is it possible to swap this doner setup into an e36 chassis (replacing either a M50 or M52) and still have a street legal vehicle?

I just fixed your thread title because it says M52 instead of M54
