I am having trouble installing. The guy said it is universal, but when i ordered it ask me for my car model and type. Also if it is universal then why did the guy ask me for the year of my car? When i receive the box it said 5 series. Is it really universal? I looked at several pictures of E36 and parts for it look kind of different. Can someone help me please!
try contacting modbargains on here, they are a supporting vendor i'm pretty sure

Have you got that blue sleeve pulled off enough for it to reach the MAF? Simple thing, but sometimes those are the answers.

I was able to connect both CAI to MAF with the blue sleeve, but than again, it's not connected fully. Is it suppose to be connected like this? I drove with it like this and everything seem fine, but the thing that is bugging me is that the metal pieces that came with the product was meant for the 5 series that i see in the sample pictures. As for the E36 they used a different piece of metal to lock the CAI to the car. As of now the CAI is only connected to the plug and the MAF. Luckly I have it pushed on tight so it wont let loose and shake around while i drive. But i would be more satisfied if i was given the right piece of metal to lock my CAI. I'll take pictures to show you guys. I was hoping that somebody on this forum had order this before and can give me an input on how they installed theres.

I have the same intake but it doesn't have that blue sleeve. It has something more like a boot and a clamp...maybe they did send you the wrong one.

On your box and the instructions was it for the 3 series? For my box and instructions it was for the 5 series. Did your's fit perfectly on your car or did it look kind of like mines?

Mine didn't come with instructions but the box said 3 series and it fits perfect under the hood. You got the wrong one dude.

yeah, i'll just call tomorrow and ask for the piece that you got.
Return it and get a cosmos v2 for $159.

yeah, i wish i would of saw that deal ahead time. but i dont think can replace mine since it has been opened and used. the best i can do at least is ask for the parts they mistakenly gave me.

just a quick question?
why did you get that style of CAI, when the majority of the people here prefer the cosmos style?
its effecent and quite easy to install, imo

I saw E36's with it and it really adds a cool look to the engine, instead of a simple CAI. Installation should have been easy for me, it's just they sent me the wrong pieces. But now that I see there is one for 157 compare to the 249 that i pay, i would of just went with the cosmos. but no biggy, first carbon fiber added to my car. lol
