She's been my daily driver for a year. I put 40k on her last year commuting 100 miles a day, highway miles. I've replaced the expansion tank, radiator, water pump and OSV. The cooling systems are a weak point on these cars, so feel confident knowing it has been serviced already. Now for the bad stuff.. the catalytic converters are having issues. When you get it up to speed on the highway you can sometimes detect a rotten egg odor from them and it's causing CEL to be on. Research on bimmerforums.com and bimmerboard.com has shown that you can replace them with aftermarket Magnaflow 94105 convertors. Performance Peddler has then for $65 each (http://www.performancepeddler.com/detail.asp?PRODUCT_ID=MAG94105) then you just need a muffler shop to swap them so it's not that horrible of an issue. The other problem is the HVAC blower doesn't want to kick on anymore unless I'm on the highway and even then it's anemic at best. I'm told it may be either the blower, a $169 part (http://cgi.ebay.com/BMW-A-C-HEATER-BLOWER-MOTOR-E38-E-38-740-750_W0QQitemZ150123282800QQihZ005QQcategoryZ33546Q QrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem) or the resistor pack, a $123 part (http://cgi.ebay.com/BMW-Final-Stage-Blower-Resistor-64118391399-E38-740-750_W0QQitemZ200091865449QQihZ010QQcategoryZ33701Q QrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem). The front brakes are squeeking and will need pads/rotors. The dash OBC is missing various pixels, but then you'd be hard pressed to find a 97 that isn't missing some hehe. Passenger rear wheel has curb rash and the driver rear wheel has a scratch.

She's a pleasure to drive and turns heads. Being that she's been a daily driver for a year don't expect a trailer queen; she has various dents, dings and scratches. I think someone tried to break in once because the door has dents around the lock and some jealous person keyed the front passenger fender. There is also a slight dent in the rear passenger quarter.

I will even drive the car to a shipper's terminal to help you cut back on shipping costs. Most shippers have terminals in Harrisburg or Baltimore. If you ship from Harrisburg I'll require a $30 fee to cover time/gas to drop it off. Ship out of Baltimore and I won't charge, since it's on the way to work heh. I will not be responsible to arranging shipping though, that's up to the purchaser. The car is being sold as-is, no warranties express or implied.

nice car. did you buy a shadowline kit for the windows? Or did you use tape to cover the chrome?

Thanks. I prepped and painted the chrome. I tried tape but it got all wrinkly after a month or two so I yanked it and did the paint then. If I were keeping her, I'd just spend the $500 or so to shadowline it for real. The paint looks good, but I need to touch it up at least once every two-three months. It doesn't stick very well.

I'm getting sick of fuel costs. As much as I like the car, it's costing me about $400 a month in gas thanks to my long commute. I'm still sort of teetering on the decision between keep/sell. Actually I may just keep her since I was able to keep three grand from the sale scam fiasco. I'm buying an old Accord to commute with. So I dunno, probably keep it unless someone wants to make me a deal.
