i just cant seem to fix this car fully...ive fixed the radiator leak, the fusible link, the instrument cluster, and the vacuum leak...but now when i drive the car for about 15-20 minutes and i take the car out of gear the oil light comes on and the instrument cluster says engine oil pressure. but when i get back into gear and start to go again the light goes off. i drove it back from the shop yesterday and i almost didnt make it home...after about 20 minutes the car just shut off and it took me about 3 times to start it up again. also when i got the car back on it felt like so much power loss because i was at full throttle and the car didnt seem like it wanted to go. could anyone please give me some advice im just trying to get this car to run so i can have it as a daily driver but everytime i fix something, something else breaks.

i dont really know what it could be..my car tech knowledge is real low...

fuel pump maybe?? truthfully i am not sure

but i feel your pain about the problems!!

i just had my window fixed recently... and now hinges inside the door or something broke now cause of old wear and tear.. and now the window is jammed and wont go down...if i force it the window brackets will destruct

I am now giving up on fixing it... this car is just a bunch of problems for me now

such as the body damage on it..kicked in panels, hit and run dmg behind the front fender.. i dont want to spend the money on fixing it either...

cracked windshield

broken passenger door wont open from inside

leather seats dmged

the list goes on

still runs like a beaut though

oil pump does sound like the culprit... Get yourself a can of Berrymans B-12 chemtool and put that in your oil. Run the car for about 15-30 minutes to circulate it nicely and change your oil... Run another can in a full tank of gas too. You will not regret it.

This will most likely remove and break down any blockages that may be.

If it still does it, I would suspect the oil pump.

yeah i have no idea...the Berrymans did help the car run better but its only after about 10 minutes of driving it that it starts acting up. like when it gets to operal temperature it gives me problems. when im driving and i take the car out of gear it drops to idle and the digital cluster is still saying engine oil pressure. while this is on the oil light is also on. ive checked the oil and its good...i mean i just changed it recently so that shouldnt be the problem. but when i start to go again the oil light comes off and the engine oil pressure doesnt appear to show anymore. its only when i take the car out of gear and let it idle after ive been driving it for about 10 minutes or so that the oil light and engine oil pressure show.

do 525s use an oil pressure relief valve? could be stuck open. that would lead to "lower than expected" oil pressure at idle.
also what oil are you using? You might try stepping up one grade with the heat we have been having. I run 10w30 dino.
