Does anyone know if a 95 M3 engine/transmission (manual) be able to be swapped into a 92 325is automatic ?

Supposably I heard it has the same mount, chassis, etc.

How much would it be. Is is worth it ?

The 1992 is for sale for $1,600.
I already have an m3 engine.

Yes. I have an m3 engine and its a 5 speed transmission. But how will the conversion go about since the other e36 is an automatic ? how much more money and time or how much harder will it be ?

Whats the downside of having a regular m3, and then swapping an m3 engine to a e36 ? (meaning performance-wise).

Lol. Youll have 1 major issue; youll have the 3.91 final drive differential in your car from the auto, and that will make your car with the m3 motor/trans redline 5th gear at 125mph.

However, it will increase acceleration big time, and make 1st gear extremely short, annoyingly short. But youll haul ass. 13.7ish quarter mile all day..

Well suspension for one. The M3's geometry is completely different.
