Silver exterior with light grey leather inside. No accidents - No Floods - One previous owner before me.
This is an exceptionally clean and well running 540i that comes backed with over $20,000 of maintenance and repair receipts going back to April 1999! The majority of the service has been done by BMW and this includes a new clutch and BMW rebuilt transmission in August 2002 at 80,000 miles; two new BMW catalytic converters this year (Buyer HINT - check out if the Cats have been replaced in any other 540's you are looking at - they don't last much past 120K and are expensive to replace especially with BMW OEM) and new rotors and pads front and back last year. There are Pirelli Neros on the front with more than 50% thread and new Kumho ECSTA on the rear with 100% thread.
This automobile has been exceptionally well cared for - all the usual suspects have been addressed and replaced. Runs strong and tight exceptionally fun to drive. All stock no mods made.
There are a lot of miles but with the upkeep on this vehicle you cant tell and it has a lot of years and miles ahead. You could get a lower mileage 540 and pay more but it wont look any better and you will have to replace lots of expensive things as they go.
In addition to the usual 540 features this car has 6-speed with sport package including BBS wheels; CD Changer; Manual Sport Seats that work perfect and adjust 12 ways with no motors to worry about in the future (plus a little reduction in weight); split fold down rear seat with the rear ski bag option.
Everything looks and works as it should (all the windows and door locks and steering wheel radio controls, cruise control, CD changer etc..) except for:
The few negatives:
small dent in the right front corner of the hood touch up paint, no rust - see if you can find it in the photos
dash instrument cluster LCD intermittent spotty failures (all work on a good day)
left rear taillight has one non-functional light (passes NJ inspection so never got around to fixing it)
I have owned this great car for two years. It had one owner for the proceeding 8 years. Why am I selling? It is just time. I like to trade rides every couple of years and have found it is easy to do this economically if you purchase high end well cared for automobiles.
