Aftermarket mirrors for E39

Hey guys,

I want to change my stock E39 530 mirrors to some more aerodynamic and slicker looking mirrors. What do you recommend? Keep in mind I have heated mirrors and also my passenger side mirror points down as I put the car into reverse (so I can see the curb). I for sure want to have the heated option stay, don't care much about the mirror tilting down as I reverse. So taking these into account what mirrors are out there?

I love the Hamann mirrors, they look like the M3 mirrors w/ the double bars. Don't like the M5 mirror much, too egg shaped.

Any advice? :wave:

haha, i guess i'm the opposite. i don't like the hamann or hagus mirrors (kinda e36 m3 looking) mirrors and e39's or e46's.

for the e39, i like the m5 mirrors and ac schnitzer mirrors.

Well my body kit is Hamann. Won't make sense to put ACS mirrors. Never came to like ACS parts, although I must agree they are better in quality than Hamann.

i'm not sure if acs rims are better quality than hamann! (my friend had some type II racing rims, and the rear rims cracked not 1, not 2, not 3, not 4, but 5 times each. POS)

bwaahahah, 5 times? What was he doing, offroading that car or what?

I don't know about the rim qualities, but ACS body kits fit better and don't crack as easily as Hamann ones.

Check out the Racing Dynamic Mirrors for the E39. Very nice mirrors with a very hefty price tag. I believe they will set you back around $650 :( .

why r mirrors so f-in expensive? they cost more than some body kits

I've chosen the ACS mirrors. They were a lot cheaper than the M5 mirrors and they look very nice. You will keep the heating and tilt down option with the ACS mirrors. It's a bit of a job to get them fitted though.

yea, it's funny how expensive mirrors are.

i totally forgot you had a hamann body kit. i guess hamann mirrors would make the kit complete. :)
