PA: 01 S54 M Coupe at local dealer

As a heads up to anyone looking for an M coupe, there is a black on black 01 S54 powered M coupe on the local lot here. I am drove it, it drives really nice. I pulled back the rear carpets, shock towers look great and the service advisor said that they just replaced the rear shock mounts all together. Looks like new tires all around. I am going to check to see if it is a CPO car today.

It is at Apple, and yes it is insane. I test drove it about 2 weeks ago and earned a speeding ticket about 2 miles from the dealership. Its pretty nice.

If anyone buys it, mention this thread.

Pictures dont do it justice. I checked out the folder they have for it too... about an inch thick full of all maintenence and information for the vehicle. I think the price is pretty fair as well.

yea, I had them email me the carfax. The car is priced appropriately for a non-salvage car in good condition. For a salvage car, it is about $12k too high.

So they must be hoping for someone to come along and buy the car without actually checking into it. Pretty dishonest if you ask me. They can't expect someone to pay that much for a salvaged car.

The dealer is denying that this title is salvage. They say its clear. Some check bsg1980 did on it said it was in a front left side accident. Dealer says title is clean.

I also contacted my service rep at my local BMW dealer. He also stated that if any BMW was in an accident in which airbags were deployed it would show up on his screen when he entered the VIN. We entered the VIN and nothing. There were no signs of caution on his part. Who knows.

BSG1980 and his buddy went to check out the car. It had been given a salvage title, a rebuilt title, and then titled cleanly twice since. Brian said the car was spotless, all body panels had VIN numbers on them, all panels lined up perfect, the interior was flawless, it drove straight, didnt shudder, and pulled hard! The car has Koni shocks, some shorter springs, IE subframe bushings, and Active Autowerke software. His buddy picked it up for $26k. Not a bad deal for an S54 MC with 33k miles.

If he can get that black mark taken off the carfax report he'll have a hell of a deal. If not, he still has a great car but he'll have to keep it for life. Neither option is too bad IMO:)
