Just wanted to get a rough head-count of how many would be interested in Group Purchasing the parts to power our rear windows in the Coupe. I would think the price would be in the mid 300's.

Hmmm that does sound kind of interesting, it'd certainly be different. What do you think installation costs would run?

I'm interested, but would like to hear the details on the wiring and how professional of an install it would be.

Sorry for the delay, forgot about the post. tlp 96m3/2 posted on another thread:
"You can buy the three part numbers as mentioned on Alan Taurs site for:
Retro Kit 278.40
Wiring harness 1 53.64
Wiring harness 2 16.86
Total 348.90
It's offered at Pacific BMW or Nick Alexander BMW for the same price to BMWCCA members."
That price is very good, considering it cost that in Europe (Ive emailed around) and local stealers want close to 500

Do we not need those two trim pieces that he posted above?

I talked to a guy who did the conversion. He told me it took him roughly 10 hours, because it involves a lot of wiring. Those trim pieces can be made by cutting the current trim pieces with a Dremel. (If you dont have one, buy one they are great!) The kit comes with full instructions, altough I was told that you will have to make photocopies of the whole thing, and cut it up, because the English portion has no pics like the german portion.
