Ten reasons brakes squeal (http://www6.autonet.ca/Maintenance/Components/story.cfm?story=/Maintenance/Components/2004/08/17/587859.html)
#5 on the list is the most common.
Your pads squeal because he forgot to put paste on inner caliper side.

Ignore the advertisement in this thread. Axxis pads are the worst I've ever used by far. My next set will be Hawk HPS.

They really are good pads, they hardly dust, and bite like crazy once you get them hot, which dosen't take very much.

Personally I'm not a fan of the hawk hps. The pedal feel is too soft. But for most people that only use the pads for street driving or very occasional autox use. For the most part you either get low dust and long pad life or hard breaking.

What are some pads you would concider an upgrade from hawk HPS for autox? I've never autocrossed with different pads, but I really like the hawk HPS pads, the 2 courses I've ran had long sweeping turns at the begining, so I just drag my brakes along that and they're hot and ready for the stairs at the end. But I get what your saying, the pads kinda suck untill they're hot, but then they bite like mad.

I have been extremely happy with Green EBC. Virtually no dust and good bite. Bite was good enough in fact that it felt like it changed my bias. I couldnt get EBC for the rear quick enough (needed my car back on road), so I put Hawks on the rear (hoping they had enough bite to put bias back in line). They did, but dust quite a bit more.

Really? I loved them when I had a set on my Subaru. I sold my bimmer...I just need these pads gone.
