Hey guys, i used to always read these posts and hope that i would never be making one but... here it is. We were merging off of the highway stopped and then started to merg onto the street and the person infront of me locked it up when i was looking to see if i could fit into the row of traffic. No damage on their car (hit their spare tire in the back of their jeep liberty) but heres mine.

So does anyone on here have experience and know maybee around how much money im looking at. I was thinking maybe aftermarket parts (hood and lights) would help lower the price.. The worst part is i just ordered the vht niteshades for the stupid crystal clear corners....

just a fender, hood, and headlight. corner doesnt even look broken. id say you got out lucky

06-08-2007, 06:05 PM
haha yea i just pulled the headlight out it didnt even hit anything important. as for the corner i dont really care cuz i hated my creystal clears anyway. So im hoping to upgrade to headlights from umnitza probably smoked corners because thats what i want them to be and then jsut vht the rest of the ambers and then get a c/f hood and a new fender (dont exactly like the cf look but its the cheapest because it comes clear coated). Eventually ill get it painted then.

Ouch!
Looks worse than it is. I agree with ducky328i in that it could just be new fender, hood & headlight.
Still a great excuse for new lights up front.

What's your insurance coverage? If you have it, I'd recommend using it. Lots of people don't want to file a claim because they don't want their premium to go up. But then... why have insurance anyway?
Either way, good luck with getting your baby straightened out.

Bet you are looking at a cowl and very likely the radiator support too. OEM body work would run you 2,000

Yea the bar that goes over the headlight is definatly dented. Im going to get lights from umnitza but just the base line ones with projectors. im going to try to get a mint used fender and probably an aftermarket hood. but well see im hopeing it gets done fast, thanx everyone for your support

$600??? looks to me he needs new: hood, fender, nose panel (maybe), headlight (all that new parts prob $1k) at best plus paint....thats only cosmetic, no telling what the radiator is doing. hopefully you can do all of that stuff yourself except for paint because intalling that stuff just takes basic tools and car knowlege. its prob closer to $1000-$1500 including getting it painted if you do the rest yourself. check the used parts section for those body panels to see if you can get something cheaper
EDIT: i can't really tell buu if the only damage on that fender is on the front part you may be able to hammer that out instead of buying a new one...could same $300 plus paint.

^well i highly dobut that the fender can be hammered out, especially since the top has been bent and has a large crease. Then it bowed out midway over the weel. The fender and the hood absoutly have to be redone. The nose panel is fine theres a small dent by the grille that i could probably pull out with my finger and because the fender bent its pulled back a little nothing that cant be fixed. The radiator is fine didnt even get close. The pump down there off the radiator behind the headlight is also fine didnt hit that either. Basically what got hit was the bar that goes over the headlight, the fender, the hood, and the headlight.

How is everything under the hood? Like the radiator support. I had a mishap with a wet road and guardrail and this is what happened...Notice the radiator support, kinked all to hell and the corner where the metal has been pinched.. So check anything and everything. not just exterior stuff.

^ yea thats what i was talking about as the bar behind the headlight, its the radiator support, so yea the radiator support is the only other thing messed up apart from the exterior stuff, everything else is fine. It seriously missed everything else by like inches.

That hit's pretty close to home. I was scared driving after I saw this and sure enough, some old man cut into my lane around a 2 lane right turn, I was >2 inches from him. GL with fixing it.

I have DSII now and I like your lip, which one is it? It's curves seem too go along perfectly with the side skirts.

That is probably at least 2k in damage. I might even put it close to 3k. It all depends on what parts you can get used.

^haha now your talking, i might just the the c.f hood and leave it raw to keep the price down and then when i save up get it painted.

Nicee, yea i loved my lip to and its kind of funny cuz its what everyone calls the "ebay lip" its probably the only thing that i love on ebay. it was like 100 dollars shipped and its polyuritane so it holds up real well id definatly reccomend it. i get people private messageing me all the time asking for info on it.

That looks EXACTLY like my accident a while back:
http://img511.imageshack.us/img511/5012/accident1pv8.jpg
The parts i needed were:
One kidney grille
Headlight
hood
nosepanel
rad support
headlight washer
*fender repaint
*hood paint
*rad support paint
*bumper paint
Mine came to 3k including labour. They also painted the grey on my front bumper green when they had to repaint the top of the bumper

Wow. From my accident, I showed a picture in a earlier post, I paid $850 in all. Hood and fender aren't aligned perfect but it still looks good.
