Hey guys gr8 to see that the Euro subforum is running hard :alright
i have a question that i really need to ask regarding my car. its a 1994 3.0L Euro-Spec and its stock (engine wise so far). I am currently in Jordan visiting my parents and i have found a drop-in K&N filter for my car (since i live in UAE i cant find anyth there for her) and it will cost about 100USD. do u think that picking it up for my car will be a good thing??? am really concerned that those oiled filters would distroy the MAF????
i really wanna keep things stock but i also wanna let my car breath more, and feel a better response in throttle.....thanks for reading and i appreciate the help.......

You won't see a difference. Better off sticking with the stock paper filter.

if u lightly oil them the maf will be fine. first thing i done was put a k&n panel filter in and it definetly made a nicer intake noise

If you have a dusty/sandy environment, you definitely want to stick to the stock paper filter. K&N filters do FLOW better, but 1) the original filter is designed to flow more than 320HP and 2) K&N filters let in more dirt and dust, especially the fine silica (sand) dust that does engine damage in the long run. Change your air filter more often if you live in dusty and sandy conditions.

Well, I believe that K&N will flow more air through...and it should give oyu a bit of gain...don't know if it will be noticeable in our cars or not. Also, the gain woul dbe different form car to car...as it would also depend on how dirty your original filter you came from was.
Had a drop in K&N on my S2000, and I felt better throttle response...but it was so slight that I suspect it could also be psychological...haha! Anyway, my old filter then was really dirty, and when I dynoed the car, i gained 3WHP just by removing the air filter, and changing it to an HKS filter, so I already knew that the car would be better off with a higher flow filter...but I chose the K&N because I wanted my filter to stay in its original box, because of the heat in my country.

hmmmm.....i want also to stick to original airbox since i live in a really hot country, and i want to get the car running more responsive and slightly better (faster)....i am considering it bcz in UAE i cant find anyth for my M3 E36 M3s (Euros) r really rare there and u cant count them in the country.so i dunno get it or do as said before change the paper filter more often?????

You are a perfect candidate for a shorter final drive (3:46). Does not affect the motor whatsoever and I think would be exactly what you are looking for.

ill kill for a 3.46 LSD....but where to find it???
i used to have a 3.73 on my 325i and it was really gr8 and switched to 3.46 (open) and i was better.....do u have any ideas how to change the ratio from 3.15 to 3.46....

Browse the classifieds section here, used ones come up for sale every now and then or you could have a new one built custom just the way you want from diffsonline.com
Also, Conforti/Eurosport offer software chips for the 3.0 that might interest you.

i know this is WAY off topic but does somebody know which E30 cars have LSDs that come with 3.64, 3.46, 3.23 final drives ? (or close to those #'s)
i want to hit the breakers and get another unit
i think my diff's clutches are on their way out... sideway action feels weird compared to when i first got the car , and it would be an opportunity to get a short diff as well

Not only is the brand dubbed as Break My Wallet...but members in this forum really know how to tempt for someone to break his or her wallet in mods too! haha! from an intake to diff! That is like 10 times the price! hehe joke joke, no pun intended of course!

the M3 eurospec has motorsport gearsets. the standard gears do fit the 188size diff in the 3.0 thou. 3.46 would be good compremise. 3.64 would give more punch.
its not so good news for the 210 size diff. actually the 3.62 ratio gearset from the e46 m3 fit in, but finding someone who wants to let go of a set is rather difficult
