My bro ThatsMLife just got rear ended and wil getting a new exhaust soon.My question is to those who have done this how much would it cost to get it fabbed up?If it is under 500 I will prolly go this route as I like the quad tip look.

It's going to be obscenely difficult to fit good flowing piping (read, mandrel bent) around to the passenger side without spending a ton of money. While I do like the quad tip look, I honestly don't think it's worth the effort or money (and there will be no performance gain). Spend your $500 on a nice stromung or dinan exhaust.

yea i would say just get one that fits, it seems that when you decide to fab stuff like exhausts and stuff if you dont spend lots of money and time into it it never comes out perfect.

I don't think quad tips look very good on e36's to begin with

NYQUEENZ (i think) has a m3 exhuast on his e36. but he has a custom rear bumper and a lot of cash to burn.

^damn.... back on subject- i'd like to see qud tips on an e36. looking under the car it doesnt seem to hard to do with universal mufflers and custom piping. only problem i'm seeing is the bumper is only molded for single outlet.
do they make rear bumpers molded for dual exaust?

He still couldn't afford a project like this. Much less do it himself.
Wow...I just read that other thread...and if you can't afford to give someone $50...how are you worried about how much it costs to put an M3 exhaust on an E36?

alot of the europeans BMWs have the dual exhaust with quad tips. It mat not improve performance but it looks damn good, IMO

fyi daved has quad on his e36, so it can be done.. he has pics, so do a search
you won't make the e46 fit the e36 so dont even bother
spend your effort paying back your debts

I think eisenmann makes a quad tip for the E36.. but the pipe for the passenger side cuts back towards the front and goes the long way around the spare. Plus it costs twice what you'd expect from a normal aftermarket cat-back. Might as well go with buying a dual tip, order an extra set tips and weld them to the frame on the other side. Probably better performance too.

I believe there is an off topic forum to discuss debt woes that aren't even any of your business luckytopher. Get over yourself. Regardless, he mentioned it was his brother that got rear ended and will be recieving the money and potentially doing the swap. So the money in question has nothing to do with this thread.
That being said, I feel that the fabrication work and exhaust itself will exceed $500. However I think it would be worthwhile to get some pictures of the exhaust while still installed on an e46 M3 and pictures of your current set up. Take those to an exhaust shop that is capable of doing the work and find out the price. I have a feeling it will NOT be a simple bolt on setup. In addition you'll need to modify/replace your bumper, which considering that he was rear ended, you should be having to do anyway.
So in conclusion, find out what it:
costs to do the piping
costs for bumper modification/replacement
costs for labor
costs for parts
The most concrete answer you'll get is from the people that your bro will be handing his money to.

Thanks for staying on topic and to concrete it more luckytopher is a 100% grade A douch bag lol! From what I have heard the whole spare tire well must be cut out and welded up.So money wise I will not be able to do this mod as I had wished I thought it would be a bolt up thing but it's not lol.Well I will have a E46 m3 exhaust in my garage in case I get a E46 3er sometime I guess.
