where can you find out which bmw model's engine can fit which other bmw?
also like what kind of other stuff needs to be stripped from the car?

when it comes to swapping engines, just about anything is possible. if you're trying to do like a S62 in a E36 you might need to fab up some custom mounts, etc, but anything is possible.

If they can fit a V12 in an E30 you can do pretty much anything you want.

You won't find a single source that lists everything. S50 and S52 are popular upgrades to BMW's, LSx swaps are becoming more popular these days. SR20 has been done, use the search function and you'll find more...also don't forget about google.com

Most economical and most popular is the s52 because u can get a used one w/ trans for 3k or under
