sup guys,
quick question, whenever my car sits for a long time and i start driving, and turning specifically, it creaks really loud ...almost like a whale is under my hood. But after i start driving and turn the wheel back and forth a lot, it goes away. I think it may be the power steering pump going bad or a loose belt. Any opinions????
thanks

Well, first off, it says you have an RX-7, but nothing about an E36. I assume you mean an E36, but if your talking about the RX-7, your fucked and far from home in the sense that this is no Mazda forum.
But assuming it IS an E36, I'd have to say that it could just be the steering column needs more lubricant somewhere because after sitting for a while the lubricant could settle and then after turing the wheel a bit it goes back to normal. IDK if that even works out in real life but otherwise I can't really tell.

+1 on more lubricant.
I have the same problem. I get that noise when the car is cold, after the cold night, when I am reversing from my driveway:)
It's nothing serious, IMO. I just don't have time to get underneath and lube it.
