Today while merging on a freeway offramp, I took a very hard turn on my 94 318 and had to slam on the brakes at the end of the curve because of a car stopped ahead. As I took the streets, a very loud vibration shakes the car as Im moving. Even at a stop the car shakes as well but not as hard. I drove home and popped the hood for an inspection. I finally noticed the right side motor mount was out of place and look like the engine shifted. I need to replace them real soon. Just wondering if anyone has any knowlegde of replacing engine mounts. I just need to replace the passenger side. All opinions are considered.:)

I haven't done the job myself but do a thread search. I remember reading a DIY with pictures not to long ago. Sounded like an easy job and it had great explanations.

make sure u dont jack the CAR up by the sump/oil pan, and when u support the engine, ensure u have a adequate block of wood between the oil pan and jack to distribute the weight and cushion it

Well me and a friend finished replacing the motor mounts. It took us no more than two hours. It appeared that both mounts were broken off and the engine was sitting on the subframe. We jackstanded one side. We then unscrew the top bolts with an extension. On the drivers side, we unscrewed the vacuum canister to get a clear route for the extension. The oil pan was jacked up to removed and replace the mounts. We did the passenger side first and then the drivers side. Very much easier than I thought. Thanks.
