Well my Forgeline WC3 wheels finally were shipped out yesterday in polished finish. I was hoping you guys would know what is the best wheel cleaner to use on a polished wheel which will not hurt or dull the finish. To polish them every once in a while I use Wenol wheel polish which is the best, and was just looking for some advice on what to use to clean them when I wash the car. Thanks for the help.

If i spent that much on wheels i wouldn't clean them with anything but carwash and elbow grease. If they are clearcoated or anodized a polish would remove either one. My advice is to never let them get dirty enough that you need to use anything really harsh to clean them.

You can try Eiman Fabrik Hi-Intensity or P21S gel, these are not acidic based, so they will be gentle. Eagle One A2Z is supposed to be pretty gentle as well, but I have no tried it.

If it is acidic, or basic you are screwed.

Stick to something that is neutral in PH. Unfortunately neutral PH cleaners usually do the worst job at quickly removing the dirt and dust. I think P21S does sell a neutral PH cleaner that is supposed to be as gentle as water, so you might want to look into that. I have heard very good things about their products.

But other than that I would just clean them with soap and water, and perhaps switch to a dustless pad. For more info you can go to Autopia (http://www.autopia.org/download.php?op=viewdownload&cid=1) . They have a free downloadable detailing guide that has good tips on how to care for the weels.

As far as I'm aware P21S's regular wheel cleaner is supposed to be pH controlled and is safe on all wheel finishes. It's never dulled my wheels.

Yup, P21S is pretty much the only choice next to soap and water.

Acid will etch a clear coated surface, and a Base will brown aluminum, so take your pick then do the smart thing and pick up a nutral PH cleaner.

i think i use zip car wash soap. it has wax in it so they get clean and they get some wax... do NOT use wheel cleaners...
