:( I know at least 15 people from Australia must know about this! If you're one of those lucky people, please share your knowledge with us.

I even spoke with Herbert Gattermeir in Australia. He's worked on a M3R motor in the past. FWIW, he didn't know if they were any different than stock cams.

you would think they would be GT cams.

I think they are a more aggressive profile than the GT, I will ask a mate who owned and raced an M3R for years.

The 324BHP & 258 lb/ft would point out that they were in fact more aggressive, especially since AC Schnitzer had a hand in upgrading the motor.

If I had to take a guess I would say it had a pair of Schrick 284s.

I believe they were labelled as schnitzer, but were 284 schricks (heresay only), I wish I had some in mine (or 294's)

Simon has the same Schrick 284s in his Daytona 94. I have heard them referred to as Schnitzer before but I think you're right that they are Schrick 284s.

They were indeed 284 on the intake side and 272 on the exhaust...

They were indeed 284 on the intake side and 272 on the exhaust...PTG also used this 284/272 combination. What are the full specs of the 272 cam? (e.g. lift)

The Schricks are 284 intake and 274 exhaust. Intake cam has 11.9mm lift.

Not sure, it is listed in the GrpA catalog. I was told that 284/272 was the combination that Motorsport used for the M3-R. Call up BMW Motorsport and ask them. PM me and I can give you the part number/phone number if you want to buy them... I used 288/272 in a 3.2 with good results.

there have been good reports on the shrick 284 cam, and alan they would seem to complement the CF airbox setup.

do Schrick make other more aggressive cams for the M3 "eurospec" engines?

...do Schrick make other more aggressive cams for the M3 "eurospec" engines? They also offer a 296 cam with higher lift (12.X) but this cam requires upgrading other components of the valvetrain. I'll have to check the catalog for more details.

Catcams (www.catcams.be) offers some other profiles.

I'd like to add that this is definitely one area specific to our engines where very little is known. I envy the Honda, LS1 owners who have very detailed cam/dyno info.

We would have to somehow confirm the ideal camshaft combination for our motor before we could pursue a group buy... and even then I would probably be out due to the cost involved. :(

I know what you mean. Much of the history of our (Canadian edition) cars has already been lost to time. :(

To save money on trials maybe somebody could simulate our engine and different cam profiles combinations in a software like "engine analyzer pro" (by performance trends)

how much would these cams cost (284/272) ?

The cams run 1700 and up. Just for the cams, you have to add in additional money for the tuning and any additional valvetrain parts that you might want to upgrade, ie springs etc. Expect to spend an easy 2000+ to do it right....

i see.. but most of the S50B30 guys i know here (lebanon) all have cammed and chipped it.. so it cant be THAT expensive...seldom do you find untweaked B30's here ... most dont buy the 3.2 because of the cost of it and cost of replacement parts if they fail (crankshaft etc.) They all get the B30, tweak it, and they run with the B32's easily.. ill have to ask locally where everybody is getting the cams from.
Hypothetically speaking, the cams they are getting for their engine would work with the S50B32 as well ? or maybe they are just swapping in S50B32 cams ?
are the B32 and B30 cams different ? and interchangeable ?

The B32 and B30 cams are different, and you cannot use them the interchangeably...

cheapest i seen shrick cams for was in the UK from chromeline design for around 650UKpounds, $1625AUD, $1330 USD. still pretty expensive for what power they would make. this $$ is + delivery.

I can pick up a reconditioned Vortech V1 for that kinda $$

Thank me by sending me the updated registry.

I've been holding off to give myself a chance to update it with additional information I've gathered recently.

I'll should be ready to send you the revised version by Wednesday night.
