I bought a 92 525i. How do I fix the AC without giving BMW 600 to fix it? can i restyle it to make it look newer?

1: take it somewhere else to get it fixed.
If you don't know what you are doing, or have any idea what the problem is, then it is $600 well spent.

2: you can change the hood, and grills to the 95 wide look.

Take it to an indy to vacuum down the system to see if there is a leak. You probably have a leak at your condensor. $600 is cheap for some AC repairs.

Most e34 owners like the look of the body and opt for upgrades that compliment the look rather then try to make it look newer. Other then the hood you can paint the lower black portion the same as the rest of the body or install 95 or M5 side skirts. For the interior you can install door panels from a 95. Upgrading from the stock 89-94 525i rims helps a lot.

On my 91 I had the lower body painted as well as the rear bumper. I had the lower front bumper painted black to freshen it up. I also installed rims from a 540i. I wish I had before and after shots.
