hi,
i jave a 1995 525 and last week i noticed the thermostat was gone. the car never got to the normal temperature (halfway mark). therfore i changed the tstat and put it all back together and poured coolant back into expansion tank until water came out of the radiator bleed screw. i tightened bleed screw up and the the filler cap. started engine, interior heating set to hot, and waited for the temp to go up to the halfway mark. that took about 25mins. then i released the bleed screw slightly and nothing came out. not even water. i unscrewed all the way until bleed screw nearly came out but still nothing. not even air squirting out. so screwed it bak on and went for a drive. the interior heating was fine, and the temp was fine also. parked up and left overnight. in morning went on drive for approx 1 hour. it was perfect when the car was cold. however when it reached normal opperating temp. it started hesitating in first and second gear. like its missing or backfiring etc. and im sure the power is slightly down also. but this only happens when the car is warm.
is this normal????
please someone help

just to let everyone know that the missing/backfiring was caused by the maf. it was broken from inside. replaced and works perfect now. as for the bleeding. i think i did it right!!! lol.
