Touted by some as "the world's greatest shift knob", this black leather knob with ///M logo and 5 spd. Available in both 5 spd. and 6 spd. patterns, and fits most manual trans Bimmers!!!

I purchased one of these knobs about a month ago from another party. I liked it so much, I felt it worthy of a bump. It sits about 1/2 -3/4' lower than stock and is slightly weighted. It's OE BMW, so it just slides snugly into place.

Is there anyway to get this knob with just a regular 5spd shift pattern and no M logo?
I don't *think* so, it was part of the zhp package and came with the ///M logo from the factory. I must add that I had this shifter for two years on my zhp, and now I have this shifter on my M3. I am yet to find a shifter OEM or after market that is better.

When our parts are instock, they will ship the same day they're ordered...provided the order is placed before 4 pm EST....and it's a business day (monday through friday). We are closed on weekends and all orders placed will carry over until Monday. Any parts not in stock, arrive here in 2 - 3 business days from BMW...and then immediately ship the same day.
Unfortunately, we have no control of shipping/delivery times after UPS picks up the parts from us. All orders that include free ground shipping are shipped UPS ground which usually takes 3 - 5 business days depending on where you're at in the country......but in many cases, the parts arrive sooner than expected.
Thank you all for your orders!!! More knobs are instock and ready to ship!

I can't fault you for this, sorry if it sounded like I was! The knob was shipped within 2 business days IIRC, which is completely acceptable, just UPS left me longing for more when the original delivery date was postponed from the 19th to the 21st. Not your fault at all, and considering I am out of town and haven't seen the knob yet, I am completely satisfied and will post up my opinions of the knob if you like once I get back to open the box.

I just got mine in the other day and its almost a night and day difference from my stock shift knob. Throws are noticeably shorter and much more positive feeling. It gives a whole new sense of enjoyment for everyday driving. This thing does have some heft and I'm sure you can hurt someone badly if you chucked it at them, not that you would want to do that.
Great product at a great price, thanks for the great customer service as well. I am very satisfied.

My picture is pretty closeup. The leather on the ZHP knob didn't match the leather on my OEM gooseneck shift knob. But it does in fact match the leather on my steering wheel and interior. I think it's a newer style of leather, to me it feels less "sticky" and smoother throughout, I dont mind it.

My picture is pretty closeup. The leather on the ZHP knob didn't match the leather on my OEM gooseneck shift knob. But it does in fact match the leather on my steering wheel and interior. I think it's a newer style of leather, to me it feels less "sticky" and smoother throughout, I dont mind it.
i drive a Z4 too and when i popped the ZHP knob in, the contrast in colour and texture, as compared to the shift boot, was too obvious. didn't feel that heavy either... that's why i'm curious if i actually bought the right knob in the first place.

Hm, do you have a 5-Speed ? Possibly the 5-Speed knob is different from the 6-Speed knob? That makes no sense because it is just the round insert that is different so I dont see why the material would be different. I feel it matches just fine and it's WAY shorter and heavier then the stock Z4 knob. The stock plastic Z4 knob is tall, light, and clumsy.

It gets shipped from Maryland. How long it takes to get to you would be dependent on which type of shipping you choose. Typically, UPS ground. If you goto UPS' website, you can probably figure it out. I had a confirmation email the next day when I ordered it that it was shipped out.

I don't want the box.....
but the thing is..the item was hanging outside the box when i recieved..

put your car into 2nd gear.
With two hands Yank/Pull the shift knob off (caution: you can knock your self-out as you pull. Make sure your face is not in the way).
then insert your new knob and push it down all the way, you will hear a clicking noise. then that's it.

pull on your shift knob..if it comes out by it self..then it's a 2piece..
if you yank it out..and the boot comes with it..then it's a 1 piece...
it's called...process of elimination.
then buy what you need.....if both comes out..then you need to buy a new boot too.

I can garauntee you the package did not leave our dealership in that condition. Unfortunately, most shipping companies (UPS, FedEx, Etc.) are extremely rough on packages......there really isn't much we can do about it except package our shipments as best as we can. This is 100% UPS's fault. Had the part been missing or damaged, we would've placed a claim with UPS and done our best to get you a new part ASAP.
:nono Was this post really necessary...? The part was delivered to you undamaged and in a timely manner. The outter packaging, although a bit beaten, did it's job and protected the part.
Thank you for not saying that the part was missing.....in the end, that would have more than likely only screwed us as UPS's claims usually don't end up in our favor.

Since we ship this knob free of charge, as long as the additional parts you're ordering do not make the package "oversized" or "overweight" by UPS's standards, we'll ship the whole order at no charge! Otherwise, we can deduct the 7 - 8 dollars we pickup for the knobs from the new shipping amount!

Hi Jason,
I am not too crazy about the "m" logo on the cap. But I found this on your site (82239405688) with silver cap. Can I buy this knob at the same price of $54 shipped?
Thanks
Yeah, are there any other options for a non-M pattern?

BTW .. my ZHP knob has started to pull off recently. In fact it happened several times in the last few weeks, even without me shifting hard. Anyone else see this issue?

Its a oem zhp so it does look stock. They never made a lighted version of the ZHP that I know of.The height of the zhp knpb is much shorter. If you want to buy just buy it from there web site! same price:)
