Off-Topic: Repuation Points

What are reputation points, what do they do, and how do I give them?

I just noticed I had 10 and I don't know what they are... Or even if they're good.

Reputation points are currently given by certain unknown members, but so far, I have only seen 1 member with anything more than ten, while many have less than ten. Even then, the rep points seem to be based solely on OT posts.

Actually their not given out for OT posts. I know Silverbeam has 20 and the reason for hers was that she helps with the new members answering the same questions instead of just saying search. To my knowledge they are given out by admins and mods for quality posts.

If others will note...chustaburnt has an orange Z in the upper right of his post that allows readers to submit his post to "synergy". Some of the other replies do not have this "Z".

The little bit that I've seen and read about this topic...only the originating poster can actually see a small scale (like the scales of justice) in their post....that indicates that they have reputation points.

Ah, thank you for the clarifying. I swear I searched for "reputation points" and found nothing. At any rate, its good to know it isn't because someone thought I was a prick. :cool

I'd also just like to rep the fact that my 18th birthday is Sunday and I'll be graduating from high school in eight days (For people here in Atlanta, I go to Brookwood but I'm not a richy rich kid). :woot:
