i got a new set of general uhp's put on 225 45 17 (i had michellin pilot 2s on before) and i noticed that they slightly rub against the adjuster or possibly the spring!! what are my options? i know spacers are one but am worried that the tire will then rub against the fender

Hopefully all you'll need would be a small spacer, may be a 5 mm...enough to give you some room on the inside yet not too big to make a difference on the outside....
If that didn't work then you can always go down to 215 size tires...
