It's DIN sized, so I don't see why not. I've never seen one installed, but I imagine their sound quality is quite good. For $230+, it'd better damn well be good.

The deal is supposed to be that these are plug and play if you have a 94 or 95.
I read an interview with a BMW designer that claimed major improvements with the cd43.
I see 2 versions of this radio on eBay. One has the BMW Business CD silkscreened on front, the other has the ///M logo. The prices are $100 different, as if the ///M is a knock off. I also heard something about Range Rover using the same radio.
When I buy, I will be the BMW Business CD from a reputable seller.

Funny how that M logo is placed on these CD players in the exact location of the Rover logo on the Rover version. It's the same radio though and should work fine.

I can't believe I haven't heard of this radio until today. I just a damn Blaupunkt Bahamas and for another 100 bucks I could of bought something much better in appearance.
Still can't believe I haven't read any threads about this radio before.

The wiring harness for the CD43 indash single CD head unit is plug and play for the 1991-up. The earlier radios (1989-1990) have a different harness and the wires need to be spliced.
One caveat...these units communicate with the 6 CD changer (CDC) over the I-bus...and the e34's data cable (from the Head Unit to the CDC) was designed to use the M-bus. So the data cable to the CDC (in the trunk or cargo area for Tourings) need to be upgraded or disconnected.
BUT...since these units have an auxillary connection...you can check out the "Denison", "Ice link" or "Dice link" products that will allow you to hook up an MP3 player.
You can find more info here: http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/433594/17
Or do a simple search using "CD43" in Bimmerforums search feature...or you can go to google and type "BMW CD43" and find info out on the internet.

The link on Q's page that says "Eric's" post is mine. I like the unit a lot. I find its FM reception to be weaker then the stock unit. I still need to take it out of the 530i and put it in the 540i.
