I have read a lot of posts regarding the ABS and ASC light going on at the same time, and I know it could be any of the four wheel sensors or the sensor in the master cylinder. I cleaned the toothed gears at each wheel and the lights do not come on as often now, but they do still come on.

I cleaned the top of each toothed gear, and tried to clean the valleys with a little screwdriver but could not get it all.

Do you think the valleys need to be perfectly clean too to work properly, or is it just the top of each the only important part?

do they come on and go off in the same driving session?
things like low battery voltage can set them off from a failing voltage regulator.

both at the same time does sugest it's the ABS system (wheel speed) thats having problems. Best bet is to get a fault code read if possible

Lights come on as I am just driving down road, I dont even have to be applying the brakes or turning.

Sometimes they come on after 10 miles, sometimes after 40. Once they are on, I don't have abs (tried jamming on brakes to confirm). Its wierd though, becuase if I recycle the key (turn car on and off its all good again. Lights wont auto reset once on.

Dealer wants $120 to test, then $120 per sensor, so I was hping I could elimate all options first.
