Ok so after work tomorrow I have an appointment at my friendly neighborhood BMW dealer to install Dinan's stage one software adding to my cold air intake and I'm finding it hard to find accurate estimates on what kind of gains to expect over stock. Is there anyone out there that has a similar setup and can give me an idea on what kinda of numbers and where the gains are most felt in the driving range. Again it's a cold air intake K&N, and stage1 Dinan software update in a 1997 318i M44 automatic. Thanks.

With a 318, you really aren't gonna see any sort of power gains, especially a CAI. Not to be harsh, but I really wouldn't put any money into that, especially Dinan, and even more especially having it done at the dealer. Get some nice suspension and make it look good. If you want more power, either swap in a bigger engine, or go forced induction.

dinan stuff installed at a bmw dealer cant be cheap. i dont know that you will get your monies worth, you could probably score a nice set of used wheels and tires for the same money and be happier with the outcome.
i have to agree puting expensive mods on a 4cyl auto bimmer is not gonna get you real far. kinda like buying a fat ugly girl breast impants and a bikini wax, aint nobody gonna want to ever see it, ya know.

I realize all that but it already looks good, new 18's and nice rubber but I was looking for something less dramatic as a engine swap and something more in traffic on my way home from work.

I would think that there are other CAIs and software besides Dinan that would give better gains for less money.
