:confused :confused Okl you almighty gurus here lies the problem? No interior lighting(execpt dome lighting). Notice how i have no cluster lighting as well as no AC control lighting. Has anyone encountered this problem or does anyone have any solutions for me? This is what has been done so far:
1) taken to stealership and replaced( i.e. brand new cluster)
2) checked all fuses
3) hopefully the solution...you tell me:eyecrazy

broken wire? Don't know if it's related in "any" way, but you might wanna check the trunk wiring

check fuses up front?
Did they replace the cluster for free?

Hell no they didn't replace it for free but that's another story. I've checked all fuse in the vechile one by one. I've also checked the infamous trunk wiring(it looks like it may have been a problem becasue all of the wiring is brand new no worn look to it).
When you say relay? What type? Where should i check first?

hm did you try the cluster-check? The one with pushing the reset-button and turning the key to the "on"-position?

Well, as I far as I can remember, push the daily reset button and keep it pushed in while you turn the key to "on". This should run a test sequence with all the lights on and make the needles max out.

My long distance guess is that you have a short to ground somewhere in your dimmed instrument lighting (Kl. 58g) wiring. A common way people do that is to pinch a (grey/red) illumination wire to ground when they install or reinstall something, for example, a lighted shift knob. I might check the wiring wherever you have worked on the interior.
Do your license plate lights still work? Those are just upstream of the dimmer control that drives 58g. Good luck!
