Situation:
Lynda's tires are running low on tread and need replacing. The local dealer service rep priced replacement Michelins for $143 (not certain if that's mounted but still seems a good price). Unfortunately for the better part of a week my calls to schedule an appointment have not been returned. Are all dealerships this customer unfriendly?

Preference:
With the original wheels (16 inch basket weave) I thought it might be a good idea to stick with the original equipment tires (I assume they were Michelins). On my other cars I'm running Bridgestone Potenzas which had served us well (with possibly the exception of the last set which have a lot of road noise). Though I won't completely discount Goodyear, I've had nothing but back experiences with that brand. Yokohoma V4S looks interesting.

Recommendations:
I thought I'd solicit feedback from other 7-series owners about their experience/suggestions. Driving is mostly highway, no planned track driving, we live in the southern US (snow is rare and Lynda sleeps in the garage until it's gone). Dry/Wet traction is the primary factor, durability, and road noise follow closely.

Thanks for any feedback. All opinions appreciated.

I have recently changed to a set of Kumho, cost less than $500 altogether,
recommended by the auto shop I take my i sports and my kid take his il to.
These tyres are unbelievable, smooth, quiet and it grips like nothing I had before.

We are very happy with our Bridgestone Turanza LS-H tires. Quiet and smooth ride. Did a bit of research at Tirerack and chose Turanza's over the Michelins. Just my 2cents.

Nitto NTSSS - 255/45 18

I can't say that I researched this decision at all, but I plan on getting Nitto NTSSS - 255/45 18 for $948.88.

+1 or Turanza LS-Vs for a little more performance. You get what you pay for usually with tires, cheap tires usually wear funny and don't last as long. I just ordered some 245/45R18 Bridgestone Potenza RE-01Rs for my RCs :redspot I can't wait to have them on.

So many tires to choose from. I've been reading reviews on tires for the past few days. Got it narrowed down to:

Goodyears (KDW)
Dunlops
Nitto's

Had Falken FK 452's on my list also. Called Evergreen Tire, Discount and Les Schwab and whichever way I do, I'll have to order them. They didn't have two of each. Evergreen's always given me the best balance job.

UPS still hasn't arrived with my wheels yet. I know they say deliver is anytime between 8 AM and 7 PM, but this is just effin' ridiculous. So unproductive, having to wait for their slow azzes to arrive :mad
