I currently drive a 1991 Dodge Stealth R/T TT. I initially wanted to buy a bmw but this car poped up locally and I really liked it. I still do but would rather have a bmw.

Just curious if anyone has one for sale near Rockford, Illinois. That is in northern IL if your not sure.

Let me know what you have for sale. I'm not too picky and will consider most any bmw.

If it wasnt so far away and it didnt have so many miles I would be more interested. But it looks very nice for its age and you did a great informative job on the website....gl with the sale.

The distance is one thing. But when you do your research on the E34 535i you'll learn this was BMW's most prized motor, these things are bullet-proof and capable of 400k miles, unlike the 525i. HUGE difference. Ask any enthusiast.
Good luck with your search. Theres plenty out there.

You might be interested in my '90 535i 5-speed. It is very "miley" (286k) but you wouldn't know it from the car. I can send some pics if interested. Mike

looks like its the same as KB535i's car. I am just not used to seeing cars with this many miles. I think he has 190k or so on his car. But 286k I just could see a car running for that long? It still has the original motor with no rebuild?

Yes, the engine is original, actually has 276k on it. The engine doesn't use ANY oil and is very strong. I've attended 3 driver's schools with it and the car is an absolute monster on the track. These engines do last up to 400k with the correct oil and BMW anti-freeze. The car is from Hendrick Motorsports in NC and was owned by the district attorney in that county who drove lots. Its good for a car as robust as a BMW, they go to pot just sitting. Anyway, more info available if you're interested. FYI, I pulled the head off of a 325es that had 260k on it and the original hone marks were visible on the cylinder walls, absolutely no wear ridge at the top of the cylinder that you would see on any US engine, BMW uses nice strong steel (probably high-nickel) for their old engine castings. Good luck in your search, there's a bunch of nice bimmers around.

Hey, what perfect timing! my '83 320i manual is in good condition. Has most of the 's' options, but not the LSD. fun to drive. new exhaust. Runs strong, 139,000 miles, swapping rotors and pads this weekend, clean interior etc. Antioch, IL. I love driving it, but it's time not to have 3 cars :( anymore.

Pics to come. Take care!
