In the UK, up until 1997, all cars which were more than 25 years old became exempt from annual road tax, which is currently around £200 per year for each car you own. The labour government ended this 25 year rolling scheme almost as soon as they came to power in 1997 (without announcing it, or any discussion), and froze the date at 1972. Lots of 6ers would now be exempt from road tax under the old rules.
