SOLD SOLD SOLD

I just purchased another car, so I'm a little more motivated to sell. I will consider REASONABLE offers

Pics added post #16

This listing is for my 1999 M3. The car is titanium silver on black leather, and currently has 83k miles. Car is located in Greenville, SC.

Disclaimer:
I realize I am posting this ad on a forum that mainly criticized posted prices on cars. I don’t care if you don’t feel that the car is worth the money, and I don’t care if there are other cars that are cheaper, less miles, etc. This car is a nearly perfect 1999 E36 M3, and there is nothing to hide on the car.

History:
I bought the car last May from an older gentleman in Springfield, NJ. The car was a one owner Titanium Silver on Black M3, just as I was looking for, at the price range I wanted to spend with 75k miles. I spent ~3 weeks looking for the car I wanted and looked at 5 M’s before I found this one. I looked at a couple ‘98’s and ‘99’s with lower miles, but decided on this one. When I first saw this car, I knew it was it. The exterior was nearly perfect, no dents, paint fading, etc., just had some minor stone chips as any 7 year old car would. The interior was in good shape with some wear on the steering wheel and shift knob and the vader’s were near mint. I purchased the car shortly after.

The car did have a couple of minor, but tasteful modifications installed when I purchased it. The car had a SSK (brand unknown, installed at the dealer, have records, BMW part?), Dinan intake, front strut bar, and stage 2 software. The car also came equipped with an Alpine headunit with an Infinity Basslink powered-subwoofer.

Ownership:
Since owning the car the car has been meticulously maintained and detailed. All but the first month that I owned the car, it has been garaged and washed at least on a weekly basis.

Shortly after purchasing the car I replaced the brakes because the rear pads were worn. I replaced the stock pads with factory rotors and Hawk HPS pads. I’ve changed the oil 3 times since purchasing the car (75k, 78k, and 81k), and have always used the BMW mineral oil from the dealer. In the next week I plan on changing over to Amsoil 5w40 (on order).

Shortly after buying my car I was disappointed with lighting output and purchased a set of genuine OEM bosch European headlights retrofitted with 6K HID’s. The light’s have been great, but I do get a random (once a month) “low beam failure” light.

In the last month I have gone through the majority of the maintenance items on the car that I did not have records of. In one week I ordered new RSM’s, RTAB’s, LCAB’s, and the whole cooling system (radiator, thermostat, water pump, aluminum thermostat housing, upper & lower radiator hoses, and belt), transmission fluid (royal purple syncromesh), and diff fluid (red line 75w90). I also purchased a new set of genuine M3 floormats because the car came with custom embroidered mats with the original owner’s initials.

In addition to the maintenance I also put on a new tires on all 4 corners (Bridgestone RE050A-Pole Position in stock sizes), and installed the M50 manifold using the kit from Eric on the forums. I couldn’t be happier with either the tires or the manifold.

Summary:
The Good:
-Records since new
-New Tires (less than 100 miles)
-Meticulously maintained
-Near perfect body, interior
-One of the cleanest you’ll find
The bad:
-Will get many negative responses on the forums for the price (I DON’T CARE)
-Minor stone-chips on the front end

Why am I selling?
I have other things coming up in my life that are more important than this car at this point. I am in no rush to sell this car. I do not want to hear lowball offers, and I don’t want to just hear criticism on the price. If you don’t like it, don’t post. Email me at brown.nlb@gmail.co….. with any additional questions, or just ask for my phone # and I’d be glad to answer any questions.

As you can see, I've been a member of the forums since last year but I've only posted a few times. I've found that there's enough information on the boards that searching can answer all my questions. I'd appreciate it if someone could link my photobucket folder with my latest pictures taken this afternoon. Link with spaces is found below:

Beautiful car, I'm sure you will get somewhere near what you are asking. Probably not $18k, but pretty close. :)

Thank you for the help by linking my photobucket album. I guess I should have spent more time posting so I could do it myself.

Also wanted to mention the rest of the stuff I failed to mention in the previous post:

New cabin filter, new NGK plugs, new fuel filter, replaced sweating PS hoses, CDV delete, brake flush with ATE fluid.

Feel free to email me with questions.

E-mailed you again. Looking forward to responses to my additional questions. BTW, based on your username and that wrecked WRX/STi in your album - thought I'd let you know my daily driver is a 2005 Crystal Gray Metallic Impreza 2.5RS. Dropping it for an M3 - and it is looking more and more like your M3 may be the one for me.

Sounds good to me, just give me a call on my cell before you/he decides to come by. Of course it had to rain today at work the day after claying/waxing the car. :mad

Gave him your number but have not heard from him so we'll see. His name is Bob (last name is a type of bird noise...not posting for his privacy, but you'll know it if he ends up calling).

Still available with all E36 related maintenace done. Compare this with the 99 M3 $16k deals, that are lacking all the maintenace and don't have brand new tires. Not to mention the interior and exterior in this car is nearly perfect. This a near-perfect 99 that you can drive for a long time without worrying about any maintenance.

On another note, I can't believe that I'm getting lowballed as much as I am from my autotrader add...

I bet everyone keeps repeating KBB or NADA, right?
bump for a clean car.

KBB and NADA comments wouldn't be bad. I keep getting emails and calls saying something similar to: I"'ve found a '96 with 100k miles and they're asking $xxxxx, so yours should only be worth a grand more. Will you take low teens...".

At least I'm getting plenty of interest. The right buyer will pop up soon enough.

I think you're on the right track.

I'm in the process of a job change in the next few months. If I had all that behind me I'd be looking VERY seriously at your car. It's almost EXACTLY what I'm looking for.

Have you advertised in Roundel?

Be patient and you'll probably get the right buyer.

I don't want to waste your time right now but you're welcome to send me email or PM and flag me as a possibility if your sale moves more slowly than anticipated.

Good luck.

silver05sti
05-16-2007, 09:49 PM
It's funny that you mentioned Roundel. I was probably creating my ad around the same time you posted. I know eventually I will find the right buyer, the only loss I'm taking holding on to two cars is ~$30 a month for insuring two cars.

I'm taking the M3 out for a business trip tomorrow to GA. I'm waiting on an antenna for the coupe, and it'll a long drive without a radio or ipod. Mileage will be closer to 84,200 after tomorrow :)

I actually saw the car in person (well, 10-15 ft away on the road) when I was in town thanks to a flat tire given to me by construction on HWY 5 near Rock Hill. Teach me to go visit friends!

Anyway, car looks sharp. Only reason I didn't buy it was price - not that he is asking too much. I just found what I felt was a better deal (with 15k more miles).

Really shocked no one has jumped on this yet though. Good luck with the sale!

Yeah, I'm a little surprised that the car has lasted as long as it has. I've had a hard time showing the car to several interested parties because I've been travelling quite a bit for work recently.

I'd love to hold on to the car, but it doesn't make sense considering I've only put ~2k miles on it this year and I've since picked up my coupe. I'm happy that the car is at least going to someone that will appreciate it.
