Will they work with a 1995 M3? which side is the new and used cabel?

Both sides are interchangeable. It should fit an M3 with no problems.

Same questions stands here as with the shoes. I would think the lack of tension in the cable is also adding to the rattle problem. I would think its a combo of the lack of tension plus worn out shoes since my e-brake doesn't hold on any type of slope. But I'm just guessing. Hopefully you can give me an idea if I'm on the right track of not.
