now i already have a air filter and thinking of doing the de/rst of the standard exhaust but what will give me a bigger power out/p without having mapping/or major engine work or that f**king resistor for my manifold lam sen that will "not" give me 25 bhp, im just looking for something that i can do my self.

Do you want a DIY project or the best return for your money?
Perhaps the best way to increase acceleration, for example, is to change your differential gearing...
From a true DIY, a software reprogram may be the way to go. Keep in mind that most here are Yanks and most of us are dealing with the 4.4L engine. Let's see what others from the right side of the Atlantic have to say, especially those with the 2.8.

im not fussed sinse the same apply's to every engine eg: t/b boring out, t/c s/c, diff, wheel size- but im just after the small things like you said- the software remap but i only paid £1000 for my bm and not looking to spend too much as im going to bmw and having the full service to compinsate for the abuse this one had to put up with the old owner, the only reason i bought is is because i got sick for having a citroen saxo 1.4i lol and every one kept pissing on me in there golf gti's and vectraz, i have not told any1 yet about this and want to get it running sweet and with a bit more go b4 i go kick some fat monkey ass so any help would be great!

IIRC, the 728 has THE engine you want when it comes to turboing. A few new head bolts with a turbo kit, and you will have 500 hp.

what t/c have you in mind and what psi? any kit in partic? price of kit? wear and tear and live exp of my engine? as id love a juicy turbo in it since 350/400 at the wheels would blow even the bigger boys around my neck of the woods!
+ im 21 and that much power would do me till im 40 hahahahahaha

I'm going to venture a guess and say that the 2.8L engine in your car makes about 190HP.
To get another 100HP out of that engine, you would almost certainly have to go FI. To add FI for less than 1K Pounds would have to be damn near impossible, not to mention the brake and suspension upgrades that you would then need. Oh, and the transmission, too.
Not trying to be difficult, just being realistic...

if you just wanna smoke some punks once in a while... bottle it. seriously.
since you daily routine will not be altered, your engine will last longer.
and you will save on gas.
think bottles. and its not gonna cost you an arm and a leg.
also bottles have higher pressure than turbos... so there is no use for a turbo while running on bottles.

is this THE 2.8 engine that comes on 328? is it a straight 6? that engine produces 190hp at 5300rpm and 206ft-lbs at 3950rpm.
you might wanna head over to the 3 series sections... like e36.
there are guys that are running torbos and superchargers on those cars on this forum... they paid $4000+ for their kits though.
if thats indeed the engine you have, they might also be the ones to tell you how to deal with the bottles.
from what ive heard, tuningwise the 2.8 is better than the 3.0 and 3.2 engines found on m3... its closer to the eurospec S engines.
keep us updated... we dont see this engine on the 7 series around here.

I think the new m3 v8 heads can fit out engines... they look sick too.
m30b28 that is the engine he has big inline six came only in 528i E28 and 728i E23 good for turbos besides that it is very similar to the 735i engine since just by looking at it would be hard to tell if you have 3.5, 3.3, 3.2 or 2.8 unless looking at the numbers.

so i must have dremt just flying up a hill from stand still to 60 in 6.2 seconds and back down in 5.1 (used a wheel timer(steering wheel)) i have to get a test on the good old rollers and ill get i pick up of the dino sheet, i only paid a grand and the dealer never knew the upgrades so i might even got a p/p, borein out+ displacement if im correct.......i think thats whats its called-in it so ill never know till i see the read out and get more info( it only cost a grand coz i swaped a car i bought on the cheap and fixxed up on the cheap so only cost what id spent, since if you( as any) upgraded the brakes and lowerd it why go that far and not uprate the engine?

No argument from this corner!
Oh and I would think your 0-60 time is probably in the mid 7s, unless the engine has had some fairly significant work done to it.
Let us know.
