I am interested in buying a set 3 wheels and tires from a friend of mine that were in an accident a few months ago (other wheel got totaled). They are beyern mesh style rims 18x8.5 with Pirelli P Zero Nero summer tires. There is curb rash on the inside of the wheels because of the accident. They have about two thousand miles on both the wheels and tires. There is no visible damage to the outside of the wheels. New the wheels cost $235 each and the tires cost $200, bringing the grand total to just under $2000. He wants $600 dollars for the 3. plus i have to buy a new wheel and tire which would cost about $450. I would spend about $1000 total.

Good deal or no?

I am considering bringing the wheels to my mechanic to check for any damage i didn't see and to check to see if they are bent.

any input would be great.

I had a set of 17s and they were great. They look good on e36s and they are good build quality and not too heavy. As far as it being a good deal, I got my set of 4 for about $720 new, 18s are more obviously, then i blew 900 on awesome tires. I say do it, but have them checked that they are straight first.
