I drive/drift a 1993 e36 325 sport coupe. The gearbox to prop coupling (doughnut) has a few cracks in it. Does anyone know roughly how long after cracking before this will fail? It does get a hard time on the track, I have a new one but its snowing and freezing cold and I have a track day on Saturday.
Do you think I should change it or will it be ok?

i dont know to much about trannys...but im sure it couldnt hurt to change it.

Yeh I know it would be better to change it but Im on track on Saturday and its snowing and freezing!!!!!

guess you'll know on the first shiftlock, eh?
thing is, has it lasted a session before you noticed it was cracked? if it has then yeah it will be fine. but if you inspect the car after every use, and this is the first time you have seen the cracks, then i wouldnt even drive it to the event.
