My friend took me for a ride in his new evo 9 and was showing me what it could do...bastard wouldnt let me drive, but his brakes were amazing. So smooth yet so strong. I want them, anyone know a good set of rotors and calipers to match?
p.s. although he did have amazing brakes, they didn't help him when he hit an ice patch and lost control (in chicago) and wound up raping his undercarage on the sidewalk of a bridge...luckily its not totaled

How about, some blanks, good compound pads, SS lines, and full brake fluid flush. Maybe upgrade to an m3 brake setup if its "bigger/better" than the 328.

+1 - I think it's also the braking surface size. If you get bigger brakes, it will offer more stopping power.

^+1 Dont get crossed drilled and all that garbage, its less surface area for the pads to contact with, and are just a cool factor.

+1, I don't think it was meant for street use. It just helps cools it faster to reduce brake fade, ie exits the gas on the surface quicker. It just looks cooler, that's why I am thinking of getting it...

+1 beat you to it. My car already has them on from the PO, but theyre ground down so far, i need new ones. Im either going to upgrade to the vented rotors from the newer 318ti's or upgrade to the 325 or 328...i think theyre bigger than my stocks and are vented.

It's easy to overlook the influence of a good set of performance tires on a car's braking ability.
A "lower tech" braking upgrade than a complete M3 brake swap would consist of fresh fluid, performance pads and new rotors, and stickier tires. Adding larger rotors and calipers can increase brake torque and improve fade resistance under repeated hard braking, but at the expense of front/rear balance and unsprung weight.
If you decide to swap calipers, make sure you upgrade to the E36 M3 master cylinder to preserve pedal travel/feel.

yea M3 brakes is a good and cheap upgrade if you can find the parts.. mainly the spindle i believe is the hard part to find used.
My 14" UUC BBK stops my E36 like a sport bike!
