California Band?

What band(s) do california cops use in their radar detectors? I know CHP uses Ka and K...I think. Anyone know? Is it safe to turn off X band on my V1?

you should be able to find this infomation i think it's avail to the public have you tryed contacting the fcc or any other state or local radio clubs?

I turn off X band in the city, but reactivate it on the freeway just to be safe.

I doubt you could make a generalization about the entire state of CA. I've never seen X on my V1 turn out to be anything but stores or garage openers, but who knows if cops would use it out in Bumf*k on the way to Vegas or something ... you know?

I picked up x band once around my neighborhood when a motocop was staked out in an intersection. I was glad I slowed before I saw him and I thanked the old V1.

Weird thing though because I never picked up a lethal x band since.
