First off, Hi. Been a member for a while but never posted. I searched and read through posts but can't seem to find an answer.
HELP!
Currently, from a start there is a grinding noise that seams to come from either the rear end or right under the shifter. If I am gentle on the throttle it didn't occur. Now, when in D but stopped with my foot on the brake, there is a 'rattle' noise from right under the shifter.
This just occured after taking the car through a wash. Wash was one with a 'track' that pulls you. I've gone through the wash a dozen times before, but this time there was a loud 'thunk' as I pulled into the track. I didn't think anything of it as it's still winter hear and it may have been ice or something.
Previous to this, on very cold days (-20 C or lower) there would be a grinding or whiring noise while moving. Noise seemed to come from same area, right under the shifter. While stopped or in neutral and reving the engine there was no noise. Eventually it would stop.
Any ideas?
