When I bought my car, the ABS + ASC lights were on in the cluster, since the 2 wires for the wheel speed sensor on the front driver's side were severed. I figured that soldering them back together would put the lights out, but it didn't.

If there were no other problems in the system, should soldering the wires have fixed my problem? Or are they sensitive enough to resistance that the soldering job could continue to throw an error in the system? If so I am going to go ahead and replace that sensor.

Sounds like you will need a trip to the dealer to have the ASC+T/ABS subsystems diagnosed with the BMW computer.

I was trying to fix the obvious probably in a hope of avoiding the $150 to get the code pulled :confused

I know... but sometimes it's cheaper to get the codes pulled than to replace random parts.

is it possible to reset lights on our cars by disconnecting the battery and joining the wires together to erase the memory?
