Anybody ever heard of warranty issues/repairs being challanged or denied by a company or dealer because you had after market wheels on a vehicle? Such as in the area of brakes, suspension etc,.

I dont think that after market wheels could void warranty.

usually putting an aftermarket product only voids the warranty on any effected sub components ie. aftermarket springs could void the warranty on the shocks. I'm not sure what wheels might void - if anything.

As long as you don't get carried away with the wheels, you'll be fine.

We had a 645 on 22s come in with all 4 front airbags deployed and suspension damage. The wheels were too wide, and the inside edges rubbed the strut under normal conditions. Whatever they hit (the repair order said "the airbags just went off") drove the wheel into the strut. If they had the stock wheels, they'd probably only have a bent rim to replace. Instead, the total on the repairs was well over $16,000. The owner paid out of his own pocket.

By law it can only void the warranty on that part and possible sub components.

However, every dealer on earth is going to try to void the warranty on whatever they can, wheels dont allow them that much lattitude.

Yeah, dealers will get away with whatever you let them. Customer knowledge is your weapon! Smack 'em over the head with it. lol
