Hi,i just bought a 97 328i and i'm in love with her....the thing is,lights on the panel indicates that the maintnance is due.What would be the best engine oil and air filter brand to use it?Will the lights turn green once the maintnance is done?

No, the light will not go out by itself. You will need to have a shop reset it, or buy a reset tool.

As far as engine oil, the consesus on the board seems to be Mobil Synthetic, but I don't remember the recommended weight. 5w30, IIRC...

Service light are not oil change lights...but run Mobil1 0W40 all year round. Stock air filter is fine.

you don't even have to make the tool. If you ground the proper pin, it will reset. I Did it myself and got all the green bars back again. I am using 20w50 castrol on mine, regular (not synth).
